This apartment is a self contained unit within a larger chalet, next door to the Aravis Lodge. It has one bedroom containing either a double or twin beds along with a set of bunk beds. This makes it ideal for a family with two kids, or a couple just wanting a bit of extra space.

The living room is well-decorated with everything you need on a self catered holiday; table, chairs, sofa, open log fire, TV, DVD/CD player and free WIFI. There are full sized patio windows allowing access to the large, private terrace.

The kitchen is fully equipped kitchen boasting a very large oven, 5-ring gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and a full range of utensils, pans, crockery and glassware.

There is one bathroom for the apartment containing large bath with shower, toilet and washbasin.

Set on the grounds of the Aravis Lodge, you can benefit from private parking and access to some the Lodge facilities such as the bar, on-site ski hire and of course the help and assistance of the Ski Weekender team.

Apartment Location

Chalet Aravis is located in centre of the village of St Jean de Sixt, just 5 minutes from the base of the ski lifts or the village centres of Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz.

The village itself offers a well stocked small supermarket, a chemist, newsagent, 2 bakeries, a greengrocer and several bars and restaurants; all just across the road from the apartment. In addition there is a free ski bus linking the resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.

For those who self drive it is only half an hour to the medieval village of Annecy as well as other local attractions such as the sumptuous weekly produce markets. Otherwise, airport transfers can be arranged at an extra cost.

Chalet Description

The heart of the cosy interior is the lounge, or more specifically the large wood burning stove which creates a really warm chalet – both in terms of heat and atmosphere! The comfy sofas and colourful rugs all create a real home from home. A good place to chill out at the end of the day is the TV room – set back off the corridor you can ensure privacy and a large sofa to chill out on whilst choosing your favourite TV programme on Sky or a good DVD.

There are 6 bedrooms which are all light and airy with, mostly, ensuite bathrooms, decorated in a fresh, clean and cheerful manner. Bedrooms can be arranged as either twin rooms or doubles and it is possible to add cots or z-beds to any of the bedrooms. Most of them also have amazing views over the village or the Aravis chain of mountains; a couple also has a balcony.

The kitchen is extremely well equipped, in fact it is a semi-professional kitchen. It contains anything you might need for a self-catered holiday including a 4-ring gas cookers, two full ovens, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a vast range of utensils, cooking equipment and crockery.

Apartment Description

The most notable thing about the Aravis Apartments has to be their size, being significantly larger than standard French rental properties. Each apartment has three bedrooms, fitted with twin or double beds. There is also an extra ‘pull-out’ or sofa bed in the lounge if needed as well as a mezzanine with another bed. The lounge area, with TV, internet connection and under floor heating, is comfortable and spacious with access to the sunny terrace.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and cater for yourself – complete with microwave, fridge freezer, full oven and hob, dishwasher and a full complement of dishes, cutlery and utensils. Traditional tables and chairs are included and all apartments contain a washing machine, modern shower rooms with basin (some have baths too) and separate WC.

Private garages are available within the apartment block for an extra fee if required or alternatively there is a free public car park across the street. Stairs and an elevator give access to the apartments.

The apartments are ideal for those self-driving or hiring a car from the airport, but we can offer airport transfers from Geneva if desired. With the location of the apartments being so central, you can easily enjoy a weeks skiing with no need for a car.

Please note that the apartment is available from 2pm onwards on Saturday afternoon, and must be vacated by 10am on the following Saturday.

The ski slopes of Le Grand Bornand are easily accessible with the main telecabines situated just 100m from the apartments. The local village is just a 5 minute walk away and offers a large variety of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions.
